Fuelwood permits available on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests

COEUR d’ALENE — Fuelwood permits for the 2017-2018 season will be available beginning April 1 on the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. A Personal Use Firewood Permit is required if you wish to take firewood home, however campers can gather wood for a campfire without a permit. Fuelwood permits are $20 for a minimum of four cords.

I am writing regarding the article entitled "Peak Adventures complains about permit process." The article failed to mention the most important point in this debate, that the BLM changed course 180 degrees with respect to the Peak Adventures permit over the course of eight months. This change in position on the permit will put Peak out of business and cost the owners their life savings.
